Aircraft Mechanic

Whether you want to work on modern jets, vintage aircraft or helicopters, aviation maintenance theory is the same. You have propulsion (Powerplant) and the airframe (structure.) The Powerplant is what moves the air vehicle and the airframe guides and protects its cargo (including the pilot!)

Many vintage planes are propeller driven while modern jets use turbine engines. With helicopters, you may have a combination of both – blades for lift and turbine engines for forward movement! Different aircraft may have special characteristics that the mechanic must be aware of, for example, helicopters and propeller driven aircrafts that produce excessive vibration. Some helicopters produce so much vibration that the mechanic must conduct a vibration analysis. This specialized field requires further training on the aircraft technician’s part.

Regardless if you would like to work on vintage aircrafts, jets or helicopters, the theory is the same. To learn more about what our aircraft mechanic school has to offer you, please contact us at 1-888-349-5387 toll free or you may fill out the form.
