TAKING FLIGHT

We thunder down the runway, gravity in quick pursuit. It pulls me down in the seat in a vain attempt to drag me back to earth, then, realizing the uselessness of the struggle, relaxes it grip. We soar above grids and patterns that moments ago, seemed real but are now just a backdrop for the broad brush strokes of clouds painted across the horizon by the hand of God.

We are framed in the suns orange-red glow. Time passes with lightning speed but it is clear in my mind, clear in my heart. It's not just a painting of Gods, it's real. Then we return to earth again, we give up our eagles’ eye view of the land until next time. What a rush!!
